Rhonegletscher, 2007

Having decided to return and examine the landscapes I have known all my childhood and teenage years, I retraced, on foot, the Rhone plain, following its river from the Glacier to the Geneva Lake.

Now that I have crossed a part of this area and that I have glanced at these spaces that have been hidden deep in my memory, I have been surprised of my lack of nostalgia. I had this wish to go back to my origins and I had the ambitious wish to understand a little of my heritage. In fact, I pretended to rediscover these landscapes and to understand their history. My imagination about these places has amply substituted for my lack of memory.

Thus these photographs seem to waiver between the wish to remember and the wish to simply photograph this region.

This is an ongoing project.
